50-YEARS
OF HANDI-WHEELS

"SOMEONE TO TURN TO"

Two buses, a small staff, and several volunteers keep Handi-Wheels running all year long. Over the last five decades, Handi-Wheels has received funding from the NDDOT, Medicaid, grants, and donations from Giving Hearts Day.

It is an effort to keep the wheels rolling for those who want to stay in their home yet have a way to get around.

“There are a lot of people who have problems with mobility, so they have to have someone to turn to, “ {Ron} Kopperdahl, the driver, said.

We believe mobility = independence.

Without transportation, individuals with physical and mobility issues are unable to get to medical appointments and participate in normal activities within their community. Because of this,  they experience isolation. Overtime,  this results in a decline of mental, physical, and emotional health.

Handi-Wheels drives individuals with mobility issues where they need to go to ensure transportation is never a barrier to getting healthcare, increasing independence, and enjoying more of  life!h.

We provide rides for a variety of needs including medical, shopping, supportive services, recreational, and volunteer or work-related needs in the Fargo and West Fargo, North Dakota areas.
